One of my favorite childhood memories was writing and receiving letters to and from my cousins in Ecuador. My eldest cousin, Iris, used to decorate her letters with drawings, fancy lettering, and stickers which were all the rage in the 80s (did any one else have a sticker album?)
I was hoping to put this out sooner as a fun summer activity (I know many schools are already in session and it’s back to work, work, work, work, work, work) but I encourage you to set aside a little time one afternoon or weekend to making some stationary and sending out some letters.
I promise it will be fun and your recipients will be unexpectedly surprised!
I gathered my pens, markers, washi tape, random stickers from who knows where, and my books on lettering, zentangles and doodling (I’m a teacher. I have this stuff lying around) to make this snazzy stationary. But, all you really need is a piece of paper, an envelope, and a pen or pencil.
