Happy Thanksgiving week. Just wanted to share this little gratitude journal I made. It will hold many of the things I am grateful for and serve as a reminder of how blessed I am, especially on those days when life tries to keep me down.

I’ve been writing in a gratitude journal since August 2018. It sits open on my nightstand as an invitation in the morning to be grateful, and to get my brain ready for the day. I do it every weekday (& sometimes on the weekends now). If I do it before looking at my phone, I am much more engaged and focused on the important things I want to accomplish that day.

This daily practice has been a game changer for my productivity and mood.

I’m on my second journal and just about ready to move on to this one. Part of my morning ritual includes reading a short poem or inspirational quote. So, I decided to start collecting the ones that speak to me.

“I love quotations because it is a joy to find thoughts one might have, beautifully expressed with much authority by someone recognizedly wiser than oneself.” -Marlene Dietrich

“Surprisingly lovely, precious days. What is there to say except: here they are. Sifting through my fingers like sand.” -Joyce Carol Oates

“Each morning I wake up and say, ‘Dear Lord I don’t want anything better; just send me more of the same.” -Kitty Carlisle Hart

I don’t often make my own journals, but I really enjoyed the slow process of putting this one together. You can see a little walk through of this journal here.

Do you have morning rituals or a journaling practice? What are they? Would love to know.
