It has been a sleepy, dreamy and sloooow January. I feel like I’ve simultaneously done lots and nothing. Is anyone else feeling this?
There have been teaching days, 2020 planning & goal setting days (when I was a classroom teacher we’d do this in June for the following school year), sick days, admin work days, and lots of reading/listening to podcasts/art journaling days…
These are pages in my abstract landscape journal. Most of it is acrylic paint with scraps of collage, and a hint of oil pastel.
I love using inexpensive craft paints in my journals. They come in great colors and I feel free to use them up as I wish without worrying about the cost.
I used to buy Folk Artcraft paints at Michaels (still use them sometimes), but have since fallen in love with the Handmade Modern Satin Acrylics from Target. Oxford Blue and Deep Sea are my favorites right now.
Here’s a small collection that are my go to for art journaling and play. I have to say those warm colors in the back have not been used too often. Maybe this spring…
Have you tried these paints? What are your favorite inexpensive art materials?
